Blockgeeks Teams with Bitbuy To Develop New Crypto Platform
According to a press release issued on June 18, 2019, Bitbuy, one of Canada’s leading cryptocurrency exchange platforms has entered into a partnership with blockchain education website Blockgeeks to jointly develop a new platform to trade digital currencies.
Enabling the Purchase of Crypto Through Credit Cards
In a bid to make digital assets accessible to a larger audience, Canada-based Bitbuy has teamed with Blockgeeks to build a robust platform from where users can purchase major digital cryptocurrencies like bitcoin (BTC), ether (ETH), litecoin (LTC), and bitcoin cash (BCH) via their credit cards. Per the release, users will be able to buy these currencies in US dollars or Euros from Blockgeek’s website.
Major credit card company Simplex will aid the two firms with processing payments and filling purchase orders for cryptocurrencies.
Bitbuy, which has made quite a name for itself for its top-class customer care support service will provide email and phone support services to the platform, the release notes. The exchange recently also successfully completed a Proof of Reserve and Security Audit to strengthen its safety mechanism.
Adam Goldman, co-founder, and president of Bitbuy said:
“We’re excited to partner with Blockgeeks and extend our services to an international audience. We see this as a stepping stone to a full-scale international offering. We look forward to servicing the international community to continue to drive adoption.”
Similarly, educational website Blockgeeks currently attracts over 100,000 new blockchain and crypto curious every month with its large repository of critically-acclaimed content. Founded in 2016, the website is one of the most popular and trusted sources for information on anything blockchain and crypto and has also hosted several successful Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) sessions with noted personalities like Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and ShapeShift CEO Erik Voorhees.
Blockgeeks co-founder Ameer Rosic dubbed the partnership with Bitbuy “a natural progression” for the website. He added:
“Every day, new cryptocurrency users come to Blockgeeks to learn the basics of cryptocurrency, and we believe allowing them to acquire digital currency on our website will enhance that experience.” He added, “Partnering with Bitbuy, an established and trusted brand in the Canadian cryptocurrency space was important to provide this service.”
Businesses Buoyed by Positive Market Sentiment?
For the past few months, the global crypto market has been on a constant uptrend which has refueled investors and HODLers with enthusiasm. Bitcoin, which was hovering around $3,200 in December 2018 is now flirting with mid $9,000 figure.
It won’t be a stretch to say that this positive market outlook has, in some capacity, incited crypto businesses to offer more products and services that could aid investors in purchasing more cryptocurrencies.
As reported by BTCManager on February 5, 2019, cryptocurrency exchange Binance had announced that it would start accepting credit cards for the purchase of digital currencies.
