California Charter Schools Adopt Blockchain-based Team.Care Network Solution to Mitigate COVID-19 Risks

California Charter Schools Adopt Blockchain-based Team.Care Network Solution to Mitigate COVID-19 Risks

Blockchain technology finds another novel use-case as California Charter Schools tap Solve.Care’s Team.Care Network to mitigate COVID-19 risks.

Using Team.Care Network to Tackle COVID-19

According to a press release issued recently, Public California Charter Schools are leveraging Solve.Care’s workforce management solution called Team.Care Network to minimize the risks associated with COVID-19 transmission.

The solution is being used to ensure the safety of students, their families, teachers, and support staff.

For the uninitiated, Solve.Care is a global healthcare company that redefines care coordination, improves access to care, reduces benefit administration costs, and helps reduce fraud and waste in healthcare around the world.

Similarly, The Collaborative Charter Services Organization offers administrative support services to public charter schools across the State of California. Notably, the initial roll-out of this initiative includes California Pacific Charter Schools in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Sonoma Counties.

In total, all the covered institutions employ more than 100 workers and serve roughly 1,000 students from age four to adults. Priority is currently being given to the employees who are working on-site unlike the teachers and students who are largely taking part in school activities virtually.

However, with an increasing number of people returning to the offices and schools, it becomes important to ensure ample safety measures are in place to protect them against the pandemic. In that regard, Team.Care Network is being implemented across the wider school community to ensure the people have a safe return to the institutions in a controlled manner.

What is Team.Care Network?

For those not in the know, Team.Care Network is a blockchain-powered solution developed by Solve.Care – a leading global healthcare technology firm.

Team.Care Network is a simple to use mobile application that allows for easy, private, and secure monitoring of individual health and well-being, including the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The application will enable schools to make data-driven decisions based on accurate analytics to alleviate risks facing the community against any potential COVID-19 exposure. In addition, Team.Care Network allows users to immediately execute mitigation plans in case any positive cases are detected within the community.

Commenting, Corrie Amador, Director of Human Resources, The Collaborative Charter Services Organization, said:

As a school, we want to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and their families. The Solve.Care app assists us in being able to monitor staff health and reduce risk of exposure to illnesses like COVID-19.  We appreciate the ease of the app for our staff and the ability to gather sensitive information in a secure environment while maintaining their privacy.”

Similar sentiments were echoed by Pradeep Goel, CEO, Solve.Care. He said:

Team.Care Network was a direct response to COVID-19 for the workplace where there was an immediate need to protect the workforce. But it is more than that. It is a workforce engagement solution for organizations to ensure their workforce remain engaged, motivated, productive and healthy in the new normal, even after we emerge from the pandemic.”

Adding:

“In recent years, Californians have shown their commitment to protecting citizens’ privacy rights though the introduction of a welcome range of new policies in the state such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the very recently passed California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Now, in the first application of blockchain technology in a day-to-day school setting, public California charter schools can create a safer space for students and staff while ensuring data privacy concerns are addressed through our privacy-preserving blockchain-based application.”

It is worthy of note that the aforementioned announcement comes shortly after the news broke out that Team.Care Network had been adopted by Angel Kids, one of Florida’s largest pediatric healthcare provider.

In related news, BTCManager reported Solve.Care had partnered with the SKALE Network to leverage its interoperability with the Ethereum network to achieve greater efficiency, speed, and security to address its users’ needs.
