As we took a long journey through the different parts of the ecosystem, we can now start dreaming what games are possible to develop inside the blockchain gaming world of Egretia. Nothing will be too crazy. Let’s explore it together!
Imagine a game similar to World of Warcraft that creates an alternative reality full of adventure. Now if you integrate this with blockchain technology and add a cryptocurrency to this world to buy/sell goods, what would be the purpose of this? Well, by adding a monetary element you allow this world to have an economy inside of it. Also, blockchain technology allows for assets to become scarce since you can give each item a unique tag. This means that you can trade limited goods that can depreciate or appreciate in value.
Once you have money flowing, you can also decide to form a political committee that runs a specific region or country. This committee can set rules on what is acceptable or not for the development of this world. People can start their own businesses and have part-time or full-time jobs and start to make a living out of it. To go even further, the virtual world can have its own open-source development to keep expanding, have unique cultural events where people can buy tickets and take part in events, integrate with virtual reality, and many other exciting things. It will open up a whole new creative environment for both developers and entrepreneurs.
Now think about a first-person shooter where you have to unlock specific challenges during the game. Or every time you kill an opponent you are able to receive a small reward in cryptocurrency. The better you are, the more you earn. Furthermore, you can buy or find specific weapons inside the game which you can then trade with other people. People that participate in tournaments could also get directly paid with a cryptocurrency such as EGT, while they are trying to hit the leadership boards. Gaming will not be about just getter better ranking. By improving your skills during matches you are also able to directly receive financial rewards or unlock rare items to sell on the market.
Now let’s switch to a game like Pokemon. You can have different Pokemons running around in a game all with unique skills and attributes tied to them. Once you catch a Pokemon you like, you can battle with others and further train them to become stronger. Also, there can be a few legendary Pokemon that appear only once every few week that could create extra excitement. You are able to receive EGT for your victories or sell Pokemon to others for profit. Lastly, innovations that would not be possible inside the classical Pokemon world are now possibly in this new game by, for instance, creating new types of species.
