IOST Cofounder Terry Wang Presents To State Leaders, Mayors and CEOs at China’s Enterprise Development & Blockchain Forum
On December 21, China’s Hall Of The People, a state building used for legislative and ceremonial activities by the government, will hold the 17th China’s Enterprise Development & Blockchain Forum.
China’s state leaders, over 30 mayors and deputy mayors, local trade association representatives, national strategists, representatives from over 100 state-owned enterprises, and over 300 privately-owned companies will attend this Forum.
IOST is the only blockchain project invited to attend this prestigious Forum. CTO Terry Wang gave a speech covering blockchain technology adoption as a special guest at the Forum.
IOST’s participation marked a public blockchain project’s first appearance in this prestigious national forum featuring academia, government, and business. This shall give IOST a head start over others in terms of future partnerships with leading enterprises.
The Enterprise Development Forum has been held for 16 years in a row and had delivered deep and profound influence on business, governing and academic systems. It had attracted support and participation from state leaders and well-known business figures, including Wang Guangying, the vice-chairman of the National People’s Congress; Jack Ma, co-founder and former executive chairman of Alibaba Group; Ren Zhengfei, founder & CEO of Huawei Technologies; Ma Huateng, founder, chairman, and CEO of Tencent; etc.
After addresses given by Cui Zhiru, the Secretary General of the Blockchain branch of China Software Association and Xing Chunxiao, Deputy Dean of Internet Research Organization of Qinghua University, IOST cofounder Terry delivered his speech as the first special guest, followed by Cai, the representative from Tencent virtual bank.
Terry commented that with China being the largest electronic commerce and mobile payment market, it has one of the most robust digitized investment systems and startup environments globally.
It has over time, become a major leading force of global digitization. Blockchain technology is of great importance to driving economic development, by reducing difficulties in SMEs’ fundraising, banking risk controls, and regulations.
Terry pointed out that as a disruptive technology, blockchain’s application will not be limited to one field. We are seeing a more regulated and stronger blockchain industry that is pioneering experiments in financial services such as cross-border payments and settlements, as well as adoption in medical report system, digital copyrights, asset registry, supply chain management, public credit system etc.
With its unwavering focus on technology development, IOST has garnered a series of achievements: (i) partnering up with EHang to ensure flight data integrity; (ii) working with Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) for interoperability solutions; (iii) developing blockchain electricity trading project with Fujimi government in Japan, and many more.
All these achievements were recognized by CGTN, the English-language news channel of the state-owned China Global Television Network group, which had invited Terry to share his views on China’s blockchain policies, blockchain development, and future application.
To answer the government’s call for innovation and accelerate technology advancement, IOST will establish Aiou Technology with its core team, who all have exceptional backgrounds hailing from Silicon Valley and global investment banks, revealed by Terry in an interview following the speech.
Aiou Technology will focus on consortium chain technology to provide professional blockchain solutions for the government and businesses. Aiou Technology aims to launch more credible blockchain products and platforms, thereby creating a globally leading blockchain enterprise.
Following Terry’s speech, China’s Enterprise Association declared its intention to visit the southwestern, middle and northern China together with IOST and Aiou Technology to explore more opportunities in blockchain adoption for business and governing sectors and deliver greater benefits to all with this new technology.
