Leeds United to Launch Fan Token on Socios.com
English football club Leeds United has joined the crypto train with the partnership with blockchain platform Socios.com. This makes it the fourth Premier League club to join the Socios ecosystem.

Leeds United made this known on their website and revealed that the club would launch a fan token (LUFC). Token holders will benefit from exclusive offers, discounts, and the opportunity to earn unique prizes and rewards.
Fans will also be able to put their skills to the test on the Socios app against fans globally in club-related games, competitions, and quizzes. They will also compete in global leaderboards and earn tokens that can be exchanged for benefits and experiences.
Speaking on the development, Paul Bell an Executive Director at Leeds United believes it is a great initiative for the fans.
“This partnership with Socios.com is another step forward for Leeds United as we look to provide more opportunities for our fans around the globe to get even closer to the club,” he noted.
This sentiment was also echoed by Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz and Socios.com. Through $LUFC Fan Tokens, Leeds supporters the world over will be able to join a global community of fans brought together by their passion for the club, where they can enjoy influence, exclusive content, games, competitions, and access to once-in-a-lifetime experiences and rewards.
Growing Demand for Fan tokens
Leeds becomes the latest sports club to join the growing demand for Fan tokens. Fan tokens have emerged as a type of collectible that allows holders to access exclusive content.
Some football clubs have used the token to provide decision-making power to fans. Italian club Juventus regularly lets fans vote for the player of the match using their fan token.
Socios.com currently leads this growing industry with partnerships with over 40 sporting clubs globally.
Early last year, BTCManager reported how Socios had inked a deal with French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) which saw the club launch its official Socios-powered Android app to enable millions of PSG fans from around the world to earn rewards for interacting with the club.
Recently football giant Arsenal also partnered with Socios to launch a fan token.
