SportsCastr Brings Cryptocurrency to Sports Lovers with FanChain
SportsCastr, a live video platform for sports, has announced the launch of FanChain an Ethereum blockchain-powered platform that rewards sports fans with its native FANZ token when they make reasonable comments during game telecasts, according to a press release, September 17, 2019.
SportsCastr’s FanChain (FANZ) Now Live
After nearly one year in development, SportsCastr, a live-streaming platform that allows sports fans to become sports color commentators has successfully launched FanChain, a distributed ledger technology (DLT) platform that rewards users with FANZ tokens when they make valuable impacts on SportsCastr.
Per its press release, in addition to enabling fans to earn and redeem tokens, FanChain also aims to promote broader adoption of blockchain technology in the sports ecosystem by providing teams, leagues and media companies with tools that enable them to seamlessly integrate DLT into their processes.
The team has hinted that FanChain will facilitate the integration of tokens that can be digitally stamped and tracked by athletes, teams, leagues, and media into the fragmented multi-billion dollar sports market.
FanChain Offers Unending Possibilities
With FanChain now live, the team says SportsCastr viewers will now be able to tip their favorite broadcasters or send virtual gift cards to them which can be redeemed for FANZ tokens. Additionaly, broadcasters will be able to reward their loyal fans and favorite athletes who live-stream content on the platform.
Commenting on the exciting development, Kevin April, CEO of SportsCastr noted that proliferation of DLT, social networking, and digital-first distribution platforms have made it possible for SportsCastr to offer users a whole new experience.
“The rise of digital-first distribution platforms, social media, live video and blockchain technology have all converged to pay the way for SportsCastr to thrive. With the launch of FanChain, anyone can use SportsCastr to not only connect with a global network of like-minded sports fans but to enter a new digital economy.”
Thanks to SportsCastr’s alliance with Laoken crypto exchange, anyone interested in FANZ token can purchase it on the exchange, and SportsCastr users who earn the token can also sell it on the exchange.
While bitcoin, altcoins and the underlying blockchain technology have proven they have real use cases in the global financial ecosystem and other sectors of the world economy, the nascent technologies are fast gaining grounds in the sports industry.
Earlier in August 2019, BTCManager informed that Manchester City football club, the current English Premier League champions, has partnered with Superbloke, a South Korean blockchain gaming platform, to enable the latter to integrate the formers soccer stars into its blockchain-based football game, FC Superstars.
