Tezos Foundation Hires PwC Blockchain Expert Roman Schnider
Foundation Board Strengthens Operations Team in Zug
After having worked for 15 years at PwC in various roles including investment banking specialist and having launched the department for blockchain and cryptocurrency assurance at PwC Switzerland in 2016, Roman Schnider will take on the role of Chief Financial Officer and Head of Operations of the Tezos Foundation beginning summer of 2019.
Schnider will replace Eelco Fiole who was thanked by the president of the Tezos Foundation, Ryan Jesperson.
“We want to thank Eelco for his contribution to the development of the Foundation and wish him all the best,” says Jesperson.
Schnider seems the most suitable person to fill the role of CFO and Head of operations due to his familiarity with Tezos and his role as auditor of PWC’s business operations over the last year.
“I sincerely look forward to joining the Tezos Foundation,” says Schnider.
“Together, we will work to serve and support the Tezos community in the most effective, efficient and transparent way possible.”
For the uninitiated, Tezos is “a decentralized blockchain that governs itself by establishing a true digital commonwealth and facilitates formal verification, a technique which mathematically proves the correctness of the code governing transactions and boosts the security of the most sensitive or financial weighted smart contracts,” according to Investopedia.
Despite some controversy and legal problems that occurred after its ICO, Tezos today represents one of the more promising projects in the field. In direct competition with Ethereum, Tezos aims to build a decentralized, scalable network that enforces the use of smart contracts.
